The Sims 3 Preview : Seamlessly Advanced

Recently Maxis have gone full speed with Sims 3 information and announcements. I’ll be honest (some might say embarrassed), but I played the first one way to much and we’re talking every expansion pack here. I picked up the second but I stopped before I owned any expansion packs. Now the third one is on the horizon and I think I’ll have to give it ago.
The Sims has matured into more of a casual game but so far it seems like they aren’t going to dumb down the series to make it more appealing to that market. Houses & Neighborhoods will be in one seamless map, so now you can take your Sim to other people’s houses without any loading. I suppose you could go around someones house and just mess all their stuff up. Let’s have a ’skins party’ at the Newbie house!
Your Sims will also age the longer you play, instead of just transforming into an adult when they feel like it. They can also change sizes dynamically instead of just having skinny, normal or fat. You’ll be able to go from incredibly skinny to ridiculously overweight, seamlessly.
The Create-A-Sim mode has been overhauled as well. You’ll be able to fine tuned every facial feature possible, customize their hair and select the exact hue of their skin tone (Although I’m sure it will be realistic colours only, so you couldn’t make the Blue Sim Group). You can then set the Sim’s size from muscular to thin. We’ve heard that you can create over 700 million combinations.
You can also customize the furniture by selecting and importing your own patterns.
It really sounds like they haven’t dumbed it down in anyway, actually they’ve made it far more advanced but how will your casual Sims’ player react when The Sims 3 won’t run on their outdated PC?
Still in the meantime check out The Sims 3 Website although be warned it’s being flooded with fans and the servers aren’t coping so well.
