I can’t say that Battlefield Heroes has gone down too smoothly with us around the office. The allure of Quake Live over a lacklustre version of Battlefield when 1943 just came out means that Heroes didn’t stand much of a chance. But numbers never lie and EA are actually doing quite well with their experimental free to play product.
One and a half million users are registered while 50.4% are Nationals and 49.6% are Royals. Incredibly close spilt aside we weren’t told how many of those are active users who hop in every week or so. The more revealing fact is that $20 is the average amount of money spent meaning the game has raked in nearly $30 million which is an phenominal amount for a ‘free’ game.
I would like to see how Quake Live has done in comparision considering their different models and all.
