Every year, the crowd at Edinburgh Interactive sits and waits with bated breath to see who will win it’s coveted Interactive Innovation Award. It is a lofty award indeed but this year saw its most emphatic winner yet. Despite a list of nominees that just oozes innovation out of every single pixel there was one game that stood out beyond a doubt.
In fact it was obvious who had won on the announcement of the nominees earlier this month. Unsurprisingly it was Media Molecule’s cutesy and creative LittleBigPlanet that scooped the award this year.
The other nominees were certainly not without a claim to the award but with the most advanced and intuitive creative tools ever seen in a console game and the number of user-created levels breaking the 1 million mark there really was no other possible winner.
Congratulations to Media Molecule who now need to build a new office to house all their awards.
Here’s the list of the other nominees:
Far Cry 2
Noby Noby Boy
Flower
MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade
