Are we starting to enter the age of disposable peripherals or will the Tony Hawk Ride Skateboard have a longer life? A story that’s starting to circulate today is that a Sliver Surfer game is in development for the device. So in an attempt not to pick the first option, we are brainstorming a few possible uses for that plank of tech.

SSX4, Shaun White or Amped 4
Let’s get the obvious uses out of the way. A snowboarding game is an even more natural fit than a skateboarding sim. Not only because the device has no wheels akin to a snowboard but because steering left or right will actually make sense. Shaun White’s realistic nature would lend it’s self better to the device but the first two Amped outings were also toned down, for a video game, affairs. SSX would be insane on the device without them dumbing or slowing things down an awful lot.

Trickstyle To The Future
Before everyone loved them because they gave us a bunch of free content, Criterion made a hoverboard racer for the Dreamcast called Trickstyle. With next-gen powered visuals and Wipeout style tracks this game could make a surprising return. Trickstyle 2 anyone? If Criterion are too busy making Burnout or the next Need For Speed at least someone could pick up the rights to a Back To The Future game.

Winter Olympics
Hear me out here because I’m thinking sliding the device across the floor for curling with the option to use another board as a broom. You could also pony up and buy two for competing in Skiing events.
Less of the daftness, this device would be suited well to the worlds first bob-sleigh or bob-skeleton focused game. Think about it, you can sit on the device leaning into each corner as they come. Starts would be awkward without you tripping over anything but the potential is here.

Dashboard Navigation
Well if people want to navigate their menus with their hands through Natal why not through slightly leaning to the side on a piece of plastic as well? It’s all the rage now.

THXPS (Tony Hawk’s Xtreme Pogo Sticker)
Apparently Extreme Pogo Sticking is a real thing. Well we’ve seen Skateboarding, Snowboarding, BMXing and Surfing (Oh, that would work as well) all represented in a game. The only other thing to do, other than a scooter game but who wants that, is an Extreme Pogo Sticking Simulator. Admittedly, though, this one could spring a few lawsuits.
Any other ideas?
