Last week Activision CEO Bobby Kotick threatened to stop supporting Sony and their PSP and Playstation 3. In what will probably be the most non-news post we’ll ever post on Nidzumi, it appears that news that trickled down to the street.

After a pleasant but very hot roast in a local carvery while meeting up with the old folks, my dad mentioned that he was interested in DJ Hero. Now this is not the only weird thing that happened but I’ve got to admit the prospect of him playing Black Eye Peas MashUps has me intrigued.

The more important thing he mentioned was that if he was to buy it, he’ll have to get it on the Xbox 360 because Activision aren’t supporting Playstation 3. Again I was impressed at his knowledge of publishers considering he hasn’t touched a game in… well ever.

Still what I took away from this meeting except that the pub needs air conditioning, is that Kotick’s words have reached the mainstream and are affecting peoples buying decisions. Whether he’ll buy a 360 or a PS3 probably isn’t what’s important but if people are put off by Kotick’s words then surely Activisions threats have no real point to them.

In trying to urge Sony to sell more Playstations they’ve actually put off a handful of people in doing so.
