Will this game live up to the hype? Was it worth the battle for Microsoft to bring it to 360? Even from the first battle you’ll notice the graphics look amazing. But as any gamer will know graphics don’t make a great game alone.
Devil may cry drops its classic character Dante, in favor for a new character Nero (Ed- Who looks the same). You’ll soon find that although you play as a new character all the characteristics of Dante remain, such as his over confidence (Ed – and his look). Nero soon shows off his Devil Bringer arm, the most useful tool through-out the entire game. All the elements from the previous Devil May Cry games are present too in the form of orbs, massive combos, devil powers and at points dodgy camera angles.

Again like previous Devil May Cry games you’ll have to shell out orbs for the better abilities such as the double jump, which all veterans of this game will know comes in handy.
In some areas there are invisible walls, but this is an easy thing to see past although notable flaws like this don’t help. Boss fights on the other hand are still terrific albeit slightly more tactical than in previous games.

Levels as always are quite well laid out, although slightly linear, you’ll never find yourself lost for too long. Biggest problem I have with the levels is the fact you go through the same levels as Dante later and little changes. The game even forces you to beat the same bosses again. The games weapons also never really get going until the second half of the game are a lot more inventive with Pandora’s Box being my personal favorite.
Really there isn’t much to say as overall it is a very good game and one that fans will enjoy. What about people who aren’t fans of Devil May Cry? Well lets just say you wouldn’t kick yourself if you missed this, but it’s still great if you know what to expect and don’t mind the flaws.
